The fifth generation of Takenaka woodblock printing. Started to learn about wood block printing from an early age, Kenji Takenaka was taught by the current head of family Seihachi Takenaka. Kenji Takenaka captures his subjects with bold compositions and colors, and unique outlook that gives simple but profound outlook to his works.
Holding exhibitions mainly in Kyoto, and other places, not just creating but he he provides designs to companies and proposing new ways to relish wood block prints.
Some of his works are in the collections of the Boston Museum of Fine Arts and the Honolulu Museum of Art. Kenji Takenaka is active both in Japan and abroad, he deepens interactions with people through local workshops and through the art of woodblock prints.
