Kyoen

The cherry blossoms along the canal that flows from Lake Biwa are famous, and during cherry blossom season, 10-koku boats pass through the area, and the cherry blossoms are projected onto the deep green surface of the canal, creating a magnificent "collaboration" of green and cherry blossom colors. Cherry blossoms in full bloom are painted with "gofun," a pigment made from seashells, and beautiful white petals emerge by layering them multiple times.
