Sakimatsuri Atomatsuri
Sakimatsuri Atomatsuri
The Gion Festival is one of Kyoto’s most iconic summer traditions. This artwork captures the spectacular rows of hoko floats that appear during both the Saki Matsuri (early parade) and the Ato Matsuri (later parade).
The lively atmosphere of the festival is expressed with a playful touch, bringing the charm of hand-drawn lines directly into the woodblock medium. A celebration of movement, sound, and the joy of summer in Kyoto.
